Comparison Thursday: Blues with Pink Flashes

I'm sure you guys are probably tired of hearing my whining, but I've still got more work to do tonight.  I hate not getting a post up, so I wanted to toss up a quick comparison for Comparison Thursday.  Luckily, I took and edited these photos a while ago, so all I have to do is type up the content!  That being said, this will be a quick comparison with the pictures doing most of the talking.

Tonight, we're going to take a look at blue polishes with either a pink flash or shift.  The polishes I have include: Rainbow Honey Celestia, Girly Bits Arctic Sunrise, Sinful Colors Cinderella, OPI Sonic Bloom.

I probably should've included Sassy Lacquer Dawns Dew and Enchanted Polish Ballerina Sprinkles, but I took these photos well before I got either of those polishes.  I may do an updated photo with those two (minus Cinderella as I traded it already) and put it up on my Facebook page.

Celestia

Celestia is a blue based polish with rainbow iridescent flakies.  The flakies show green, blue, and pink, which is a bit different from the others.  Sadly, Celestia is ridiculously thick.  I've added a ton of thinner, and, like many of my Rainbow Honey polishes, it's still difficult to apply.  I'm going to keep trying to fix it because it such a pretty polish, but that is definitely the down side to Celestia.  You can purchase Celestia at Rainbow Honey's website.  Follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for news and updates.

Arctic Sunrise

Yeah, this is my favorite.  The pink flash is as present on the nail as it is in the bottle.  It's just as bright at every angle.  It's absolutely stunning.  This is four coats as it is a jelly, so you'll need several coats for opacity.  Application is fantastic, and it works well in jelly sandwiches.  You can purchase Girly Bits on their website, Llarowe, Mei Mei's Signatures, and Harlow and Company.  Also follow Pam at her Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages.

Cinderella

For the price, Cinderella can't be beat.  The color is delicate, but the pink isn't very bright on the nail, which is pretty sad.  Application was a bit difficult.  It was streaky for the first three coats, but then it was just almost too thick to wear.  It also took forever to dry once I was able to get it to the right opacity.  Cinderella was discontinued, but you can still find them every once in a while at Walgreens.

Sonic Bloom

Sonic Bloom is an old, black label, OPI, which means it was made before OPI moved to their 3-free formula.  I know many don't want to use polishes that aren't 3-free, but I simply can't help but love the older OPI formula.  It applied so easily.  This is three coats on its own.  Sonic Bloom is different from the rest of the others because it is a legitimate duochrome.  It's base color is a gorgeous blue/aqua that flashes from green to pink with hints of gold.  I haven't tried it yet, but I'm really looking forward to layering this over black to see what it looks like.  Sadly, Sonic Bloom has been discontinued, but you can still find it in salons if you like to dusty hunt.

There you have it!  I like them all for different reasons, so I've kept all but Cinderella, whose application was a major turn off for me.  I'm really hoping that I can get Celestia to work for me.  It's just so stinking thick.
