Depression Awareness: Fundraising Giveaway! and Prizes Part 1

Tonight's post goes hand-in-hand with my post from last Friday regarding my struggles with depression and anxiety.  If you want to get to know me a little better, that post will definitely do that.  Keep in mind that it's heavy, so if you'd prefer to stick with the light stuff, this is the post for you.  This post will be long and quite picture heavy, so just keep that in mind.  As always, click on the photos if you'd like to see them in greater detail.  As I mentioned on Friday, I'm hoping to raise some funds for an organization called I Need a Lighthouse.  Here's what they have to say about who they are and what they do.

I was particularly drawn to this group because not only do they support depression awareness and suicide prevention in children, teens, young adults, and adults, but they work in direct contact with these individuals to help benefit and better their lives.  And for that, I think they deserve some recognition and support.  Therefore, I've decided to do a fundraising giveaway to benefit I Need a Lighthouse.

Here is how this is going to work - with pictures and links because I'm all about making life easier on you:

1) Go to their donation site here.
2) Once there, fill out the form with everything they ask for.
3) In the bottom box where it asks if you want them to acknowledge your donation to a third party, here is the address you will use so that I can get a list of all donations for verification purposes:  Julie Bennett, P.O. Box 244, Decatur, GA 30031.  I will be verifying every single entry this time.  If you lie about your donation, you will be disqualified from this giveaway.

If you are interested in entering the Rafflecopter drawing after submitting your donation, here are the requirements in order to be eligible to win one of the four prizes:

1) Donate at least $10 minimum to I Need a Lighthouse.  If you want to donate more, that would be awesome, but it won't qualify you for more points toward the raffle.
2) Fill out the Rafflecopter prompt with your name exactly as you put it on the Donation page as well as the amount you donated.

Please note that the only way to enter is to donate.  Let me stress that again: there aren't any other ways to enter than to donate $10 minimum to I Need a Lighthouse.  There aren't any "follow everyone under the sun" prompts, so make sure you donate in order to be eligible to win.

So, now that the administrative stuff is done, let's take a look at the prizes!  There will be one grand prize and three runner-up prizes.  I'm going to split them up into three and three since this post has gotten quite lengthy!  I'll have the other three up tomorrow, so definitely check back!

Grand Prize (from left to right): Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Bright Future, Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Not Ashamed, Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Depression Lies, Lynnderella Limited Edition The Mindful Heart, Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Light in the Darkness, and Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Hope, Faith, Love.

Runner-Up Prize x 3 (from left to right): Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Bright Future, Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Not Ashamed, Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Depression Lies, Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Light in the Darkness, and Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Hope, Faith, Love.

Let's take a look at the first three polishes!  All photographs are taken in direct sunlight, indirect sunlight, shade, and the light of my refrigerator inside and ice maker.  As always.

BEGL Not Ashamed - green jelly based polish with silver, green, and navy micro and fine glitters.  This is two layers over itself without undies.

BEGL Depression Lies - army green jelly with green shimmer.  This is four coats.  I've also jelly sandwiched Bright Future on my middle and ring fingers with one coat of Depression Lies on top.

BEGL Bright Future - clear based polish with green shimmer, green, silver, black, and lime-gold iridescent glitters in hexes, squares, diamonds, dots, and stars.  Here, I have it pictured over BEGL Hope, Faith, Love and BEGL Depression Lies.

The bottle of the Mindful Heart included in the grand prize, as well as my personal bottle, were both generously donated by Lynnderella to help raise funds for I Need a Lighthouse as well as awareness for depression education and suicide prevention.  All other polishes were purchased or made by me.  The Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers are the only versions that will ever be made, so they are truly limited editions just for this fundraiser.  Check back tomorrow for the rest of the polishes in the prizes.  Good luck, everyone!
