So this will be a quick post. Got a lot going on, but I'm making myself take some time out to do a much needed pedicure. So yeah, this post is being written while my feet soak! Fun stuff! Anyway, with the new blues I've got coming out this October, I wanted to make sure I got a comparison post up so you can see all of the light blue BEGLs in all of their glory! Luckily, none are dupes of one another, so yay! Make sure to click on the photos to see them in greater detail!
Today's comparison consists of:
Sordid End, Hydrangea, Sewing Shadows, Tea is Soothing. I Wish to be Tense, and Innuendo Squad.
The similarities, all photos are taken in indoor artificial lighting under daylight bulbs. All five are a shade of blue... And, um, yeah, that's about it... Ignore the bubbles if you can... It was really hot in my house when I first started to apply my polishes, so they bubbled up quite a bit. That's not really normal for me, so I'm definitely annoyed by this...

Sordid End
SE leans more purple than the rest of the grouping while not going actual purple. It's got a very strong blue to pink flash with a small shifting particle. It's also practically opaque in 2 coats, but I used 3 for my photos. Dry time was normal, and I only needed one coat of topcoat to get it all smooth and shiny.
Hydrangea
Hydrangea is the only jelly of the group, and as such it has a very sheer first layer. It includes micro shimmers in blue, pink, and purple, but they are a finer particle than the other shimmers in this grouping. Unfortuantely because it's a jelly, it takes about 4 coats to become fully opaque. And because of the several coats, the dry time is the longest of the group, even with a quick dry topcoat. However, it only needed one coat of topcoat for a glossy finish.
Sewing Shadows
SS definitely leans more yellow blue/teal than the rest of the group. It is almost opaque in 2 coats, but I used 3 for full opacity. It's got larger glass flecks that shift from gold to green to blue, and these flecks are the largest shimmers in the group. Dry time was quick and only needed one coat of topcoat for shine.
Tea is Soothing, I Wish to be Tense
Tea is a very sheer polish. It does build better than Hydrangea, but it is still very sheer in its first layer. It's also closer to silver than the others in the grouping. Tea is a linear holo with a small holographic particle. There aren't any additional shifts or shimmers, but it does have a very strong icy blue flash. So the flash is pretty much the only thing added to this polish. I needed 4 coats for full opacity, but I probably could've gone with 3 if I weren't taking photos.
Innuendo Squad
Innuendo Squad is almost opaque in one coat, but only needed 2 for full opacity. Like Tea, it is a linear holographic, but it's got a larger holographic particle. The larger particle gives it more of a scattered effect as compared to Tea. It also has silver microflakies unlike the rest in the group. Dry time was super fast even without a quick dry topcoat.
Sordid End, Hydrangea, and Tea have all been released and are currently retired. Sewing Shadows will be out tomorrow, 10/10, at my store in the Ladies of Peter Pan box at noon edt. Lastly, Innuendo Squad will be released with the Gents of Doctor Who on 10/26!
I love love love your comparison posts! I remember reading this one back when I was trying (unsuccessfully, of course and as usual) to convince myself that I didn't need Sewing Shadows. Today I was wanting to see Tea is Soothing... vs. Innuendo Squad and BAM! here it is. Love it!
