Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer February Releases Part 2

It's been a busy couple of days due to some tight deadlines at my day job plus prepping for today's preorder!  Remember, this month's release is a preorder that will be up until 3:30 pm est on 2.10.2015.  If I have enough stock left after I fill the preorders, I will list them on the store, but some polishes may not be available after the preorder.  You can check out the first half of the Crooked Hearts Collection here.  Let's take a look at the last three from that collection as well as the latest in the Siren Series, Siren Sweetheart.

Cold Inside Me

Cold Inside Me is a teal creme with green to blue to purple shifting glass flecks.  Unfortunately, you can see the purple flecks best in the bottle but not very well on the nail.  Otherwise, the blue and green show up really nicely in the bottle and on the nail.

I used two coats here with and without topcoat.  I had to take my photos in the sunshine because this color really messed with my camera.  It's very bright and definitely teal, but all of my indoor photos made it look blue.  CIM dries with a satin finish, so you will need to add a topcoat to get a glossy look.  Dry time was quick, but I still suggest using a quick dry topcoat so you can get back to using your hands more quickly.

The One Worth Leaving

TOWL is a deep berry pink with pink and purple glass fleck shimmers.  The shimmers can look flat in photos, but they're very bright in person.  This polish is a little less thick than most of my polishes, but that's because I needed a not-quite-but-almost-jelly formula so you could still see the shimmers without the opacity dulling them.  Because of this, I used three thick coats for my photos, but you could probably do four thin coats if that floats your boat.

TOWL is probably up in my top favorite BEGLs ever, and I just love the effect it gives.  It's vampy and yet demure.  It would be a great work appropriate color that has just enough extra umph to make it fun.  I didn't have any staining issues with this one, which is great because my nails and skin tend to not like deep reds/pinks.

Might Not Recover

This is probably one of my blingiest polishes.  It contains platinum flakes, silver reflective beads, silver holographic microglitters, and purple/lavender holographic microglitters.  This one seriously shines like only one other polish I've ever made.  The first coat can be a tad tricky depending on your base coat, but you can easily use the dab method to get great coverage in two coats.  Here, I've worn three to make sure I covered up any bald spots.

Please note that reflective beads are slightly heavier than normal glitters, so they may sink to the bottom of your bottle.  Simply roll your bottle upside down between your hands or store it upside down while you're prepping your manicure to mix them back in.  I used two coats of Seche Vite to get a super glossy finish as it does dry a bit textured.

Siren Sweetheart

Siren Sweetheart is a clear based glitter topper packed with blue/green iridescent glitters in varying shapes and sizes, white glitters in hexes, squares, rectangles, dots, diamonds, and stars, and periwinkle glitters in hexes, dots, and mini stars.  Application was relatively easy, but you may have to dig a bit for some of the larger glitter pieces unless you store it upside down during your mani prep.

Here, I've worn it in one coat and a few glitter placements over BEGL Hydrangea and accent of Cult Nails Tempest.  It looks thicker than it really is, so I'm not sure why my photos are doing that.  I only needed one coat of Seche Vite to make it smooth and glassy.

Pinks!

Happy New Year's Eve!  I hope everyone is having a great time tonight!  I'm currently going polish free for a bit while I grow out some damage spots, so I won't be showing off a NYE mani this time.  Instead, let's take a look at the third installment of my Enchanted Polish week!  Tonight's post features some gorgeous pinks, so let's get to it!

For this mani, I used Life in Plastic, As If, and September 2013.

For the base, I started with a layer of As If, which is a gorgeous milky baby pink holographic with strong blue shimmers.  My bottle is a decant, so I can't accurately speak to application issues.  After this base layer was dry, I then took my handy Elmer's Glue that I put into an old Seche Vite bottle and painted the skin around my fingers.  I did this to make cleanup later easier.  Now, once I've finish the mani, all I have to do is peel off the glue, and it'll take the excess paint around my fingers with it!  I swear by this trick every time I do a gradient and often times when I do stamping.  It's a huge time saver in the long run!

After laying down a base layer of As If, I then sponged on a gradient using As If and September 2013.  September is a medium pink linear holographic with a slight golden flash.  I sponged on two layers of gradient, which came out nicely.

Next, I added on a layer of Life in Plastic, which is pink shimmered neon pink glitter topcoat.  Application was a tad difficult because the glitter to base ratio is a bit more in favor of base to glitter.  I had to dig out some of the glitters, and even then I had to deal with pooling on my skin.  It definitely required cleanup, but that wasn't a deal breaker for this mani since I already had to do some cleanup for the gradient.

September is no longer available, but LiP and AI do pop up at EP's suppliers every once in a while.  Otherwise, you can find them on blog sales.  

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Halloween Release October 5 at 3:30 pm edt

Man! Life has had me pretty much chained to the computer the past three weeks! Working extra extra hours at my day job because of an insane (and totally unreasonable) deadline. Plus, there's so much going on with Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers this month, that I've been scrambling to get all caught up with that! Phew! Talk about an intense month! So, my apologies for being so absent - even on my Facebook and IG! I legit barely have time to eat food much less take pics of my nails! Bah!  

Anyway, enough of my excuses... Let's take a look at the good stuff - the new Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Halloween Collection, What Wouldn't I Do?, which draws inspiration from one of my favorite movies, Practical Magic.  There are 5 polishes in this collection, but only 4 will be sold individually.  There will be one collection limited edition that will only be available if you purchase the full set.  The holo will be $12 (full)| $6 (mini), the glitters and shimmer will be $8.50 (full) | $5 (mini), and the full collection will be $41.75 (full) | $24 (mini). Ok, so let's get this party started!! Oh, and there are a few kinda sorta spoilers, so proceed with caution! This post is very photo heavy, so I left them on the smaller side. Deathwatch Beetle

Black microglitter with green, orange, and purple accents. Here, I've worn three coats with and without topcoat. I could've probably been fine with just two coats, but I'm always worried that my photos will capture a bald spot that my naked eye didn't see. Dry time is quick, but be aware that this does have a textured finish. You may need two coats of topcoat to tame this bad boy.

Amas Veritas Spell

Deep green jelly with blue/green iridescent shifting microglitters. Here, I've worn it as three coats with one coat of topcoat. You don't need any extra topcoat to smooth the glitters. This is a jelly, so keep in mind that you may want to slow down your application so you don't get any clumping.

Orange linear holographic with purple shimmers. Here, I've worn two coats with one coat of topcoat. It was almost fully opaque in one coat! The purple shimmers are being shy in my photos, but they are very apparent in person. NOTE: this polish *may* stain your nails a tad. It stained mine a bit, but I wore it without a basecoat. I've asked some of the bloggers who reviewed this one, and they said they didn't have any issues with staining, so I'm wondering if it's just a me problem. Either way, make sure you take care when you wear Blood on the Moon, and use a base coat especially if you know that your nails are prone to staining!

I Wished For You, Too

Deep purple with orange and green shimmer. This is almost jelly-like in application, so it can tend to get a little thick. I wore three coats with one coat of topcoat.

Collection LE: Belladonna

White and neon multiglitter toppcoat with all sorts of shapes including flowers, diamonds, skulls, rectangles, squares, and stars. I fashioned the aesthetic of this one after sugar skulls, and I thought that it was also fitting for Belladonna. If you've seen the movie, you may know why. For the individual swatches, I'm wearing it over Deathwatch Beetle and Sordid End (for the macro).  

Belladonna is extremely versatile, so I've shown it in a slideshow below over several other BEGLs. Use the arrows on the sides to scroll through.
